Jesus said: “Everyone who hears My words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Notice He didn’t say the wise man avoided storms. Obedience doesn’t keep you from the storm — it keeps you standing in it.
And what about the fool? He heard the same words, faced the same storm, but built on sand. That is why everything collapsed.
This is the lesson here. We think that just by hearing Jesus His words, it is enough. We think that knowing His words counts for something. But what good is it to know words and cite them, yet not be able to put them into practice?
That is what Jesus meant, to built on Him by putting His words into practice, not simply knowing them.
And so the question that remains is this: when the storm comes, because it will come for us all, will your house still stand?
